HPE is seeking a dynamic, well-rounded and versatile lawyer to act as the primary legal advisor for HPE’s Cybersecurity, Supply Chain andGovernment Affairs organizations. This lawyer will serve as the primary advisor for HPE’s Chief Information Security Officer, HPE’sGovernment Affairs organization and will also be accountable to support and provide legal advice and guidance to HPE’sSupply Chainorganization, including providing advice on product and supply chain cyber security. The ideal candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment and will be expected to collaborate across multiple organizations within HPE to assume a critical role in the execution of HPE's strategies across the client groups that the role supports. Advising on legal and regulatory developments impacting product quality, product and supply chain cybersecurity, including identifying industry and government trends and potential impacts on the business’s risk management activities. Guiding business leaders on product quality, cybersecurity and data security legal requirements for new products and services, including in the areas of product hardware (servers, networking storage, and High Performance Computing), data analytics (including the use of big data ), as-a-service offerings, Edge computing, Internet of things (IoT), and artificial intelligence (AI). Provide advice to the staff of the Chief Information Security Office (CISO) on legal issues related to HPE’s corporate cybersecurity program. Must serve as a proactive and trusted advisor, with knowledge of cybersecurity trends, regulations and must be able to “look around the corner” to identify and mitigate issues and risk before they arise. Advise and help lead cyber incident response investigations in partnership with our Cyber Defense Team. This role will also advise on the legal aspects of cyber risks and controls, including assessing and escalating legal risks under relevant cybersecurity regulations and standards and providing guidance on industry practices and coordinating with related functional groups and colleagues, such as Privacy, Internal Audit and other legal practice groups. Provide advice to the staff of HPE’sSupply Chainorganization on legal issues related to product quality and reliability, social and environmental responsibility and worldwide technical regulations that apply to HPE’s products. Provide counsel on issues related to global supply chain security and secure manufacturing processes, including specific counsel on FAR and DFARs, sales of products and services to US Public Sector Customers, as well as CFIUS regulations. Acts as the lead lawyer for the HPE’sGovernment Affairs team, advising on federal election law, global public policies, US political programs, including lobbying laws and legal issues related to HPE’s Political Action Committee. Provide advice and counsel on substantive issues and initiatives being advanced HPE’sGovernment Affairs team. Manage and coordinate outside counsel, related legal expenses and budget. Review and approve legal fees for payment. Identify and resolve highly complex legal, regulatory, and business issues requiring highly specialized knowledge and judgment. Provide legal advice and service by combining skill and knowledge of the law with sound business acumen and judgement of business goals and objectives of the company. Advanced university degree in law (e.g. JD or LLB). Meets local legal license requirements. 7-10 years legal experience at a law firm or in-house with a strong preference for experience in a US government agency. Deep understanding of the technology industry. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal management, customers, regulators and other stakeholders across national boundaries and cultures. Act as a team player and work effectively with colleagues across HPE’s Office of Legal and Administrative Affairs organization. Significant experience managing multiple, complex, strategic, specialty law projects, issues, and transactions. Ability to build rapport with clients.
