Position Summary Information Basic Function Provide administrative support to the Student Life Office in assisting the Student Life Coordinator. Duties and Responsibilities General office management & file management. Assist with the monitoring and overseeing work-study student staff. Assist with planning of campus wide events including Welcome Week (Fall & Spring), NOVA Days and other events. Submit purchase requisitions in the eVA electronic purchasing system on behalf of Student Life staff. Coordinate staffing for tours upon request by campus partners. Manage off-campus vendors. Effectively communicate with students, parents,staff and vendors visiting the office. Assist and guide student clubs and organizations with event planning and other club functions.Manage main office phone line, monitor and distribute faxes, process incoming and outgoing mail. Respond to email requests from students, parents and community members. Copy and collate documents and reports. And perform any other duties as needed. Minimum Qualifications AA or AS degree or combination of education, training and experiencePrevious customer service experience Preferred Qualifications Previous Higher education experience, Student Life experience, Previous experience with eVA Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities .Knowledge of social media, Microsoft Office, Knowledge of Outlook, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat Reader and the use of the internet to complete research.? Ability to use and troubleshoot basic office equipment.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent customer service skills, including front desk reception and phone etiquette.? Ability to learn and navigate complex electronic purchasing application (eVA)? Ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and college personnel including administrators, faculty and staff? Skill in written communication, and print design with the development of marketing and publishing materials.? Event planning ability.? Ability to handle documentation for off-campus vendors.? Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse student population.? Ability to make proper telephone referrals? Ability to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner.
