Senior Manager, IT Architecture and Engineering Summary PenFed is hiring a Senior Manager, IT Architecture and Engineering?in Chantilly, Virginia.?The primary purpose of this job is to define architecture roadmaps for enterprise information technology platforms and manage the engineering of those platforms to defined standards.? This job will also be responsible for managing cross-functional engineering resources, working closely with enterprise operations to ensure enterprise platforms are properly managed and ensuring teams follow all enterprise processes effectively in the execution of projects, requests and incident management. Manage engineering and implementation of Cisco UCS, VMWare vSphere with integration to Cisco ACI, along with EMC platforms, including VMAX, Unity and Avamar. Manage engineering and implementation of Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business, VDI Desktops, Office 365, Cloud services, Collaboration Technologies, and other Microsoft Technology related hardware and software. Define, deliver, and support strategic plans for implementing technologies within their assigned areas. Plan and manage technology design and capacity planning activities. Verify performance of provided services by conducting system audits and reviewing established metrics. Plan and manage infrastructure services (cloud, managed services, IAAS) with a focus on organization goals, customer needs, business application, and best practices. Implement disaster recovery and back-up procedures / participate in required exercises. Forecast demand for services, prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures, analyze variances and corrective action. Maintain quality services by establishing and enforcing division processes and standards. Manage enterprise systems related maintenance such as systems upgrades, patching, health monitoring, license management, hardware/software asset management, and software distribution. Remediate any enterprise systems related vulnerabilities including but not limited to Messaging, Active Directory, SharePoint, and Databases. Comply with Incident Management and Severity 1 escalation procedures and reporting practices. Participate in incident management activities which include but are not limited to supporting and managing issues in the Availability Command Center. Oversee performance and availability of the Active Directory, Messaging, SharePoint, Databases and other enterprise systems, as well as support for daily operational activities of the IT department. Define the administration all distributed server related activities of the organization, as well as provides support for daily operational activities of the IT department.? Define and implement departmental procedures, processes, and best practices. *This role is responsible for ensuring business continuity.* Education and Experience Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered. Bachelor?s degree, a technical field of study is required. Minimum of ten (10) years? of experience related to server / storage engineering, administration and support is required. Experience with Cisco UCS,?VMware,?Windows, Linux,?Cloud Platforms, Storage (SAN/NAS), AD, Exchange, Patching, and Backup and Recovery, is required. IT Management experience is required. Working knowledge of Messaging Infrastructure, Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365, Cloud services, SharePoint, Windows Server OS, Skype for Business, ActiveSync, and related technologies, is required. Working knowledge of VMware Horizon view technology stack with Appvolume/Appstack and UEM is required. Hands on experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Private Cloud, Platform as a Service, Software as a Service) is preferred. Working knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Logic Monitor, Dynatrace etc.) is preferred. Working knowledge of client/server environment including Windows Server 2008 and 2012, all windows desktop operating systems, networking and knowledge of TCP/IP, is preferred. Supervisory Responsibility This position will supervise employees.? Licenses and Certifications Microsoft MCSE-Server Infrastructure, Desktop Infrastructure, Messaging, or SharePoint certification preferred. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. * Most roles require working in an office setting with moderate noise and the ability to lift 25 pounds.* Travel Ability to travel to various worksites and be on-call may be required.
