Job Description Building Automation Field Technician EMS Technologies has been installing and maintaining building automation systems in the Maryland, Washington DC and Northern Virginia for over 30 years and is the sole dealer of the Automated Logic product line since 1985. We are currently looking for bright, self-motivated and experienced individuals to fill roles of Building Automation Field commissioning and service Technicians. Technicians in these position perform both routine and complex technical duties including: startup, checkout, commissioning, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems, building automation system field cabinets and periphery devices. Applicants must meet several of the qualifications below. Qualification Overview: Proficient in the startup of mechanical equipment pertaining to chilled water systems, hot water systems, air handlers, heat exchangers, pumps, CRAC’s, VAV’s and other various subsystems and terminal equipment. Capable of implementing design specifications and various control strategies for new construction and renovation projects. Perform systems integration to third party products via BACnet, Modbus and LonWorks protocols. Ability to create and/or modify programs and graphics to meet design sequences or client requests. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical and control drawings. Ability to work off of ladders, scaffolding and aerial lifts. Perform server level maintenance. Proficient in the Microsoft and Linux software environment. Utilize proprietary software to build and manage databases. Troubleshoot and/or repair components in field mounted panels, control modules and end devices. Create As-Built documentation and generate field progress reports. Perform warranty and/or service calls. Participate in project meetings and serve as subject matter expert in the startup and commissioning of building automation systems. Must have the ability to obtain security clearances in various government facilities.
