Job Summary Our client is looking for a Project Estimator to join our Field Services Construction division. This position will be based in our VA office. Responsibilities will include preparing quantity surveys, cost estimates and proposals for construction projects. The ideal candidate has at least 4 years' experience as a Project Estimator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Visit job site to evaluate job site conditions. Generate material requirements from plans and specifications. Estimate productivity factors based on the project requirements. Prepare requests for quotes for subcontractors, including pertinent information for specific tasks (i.e. drilling, electrical, fencing, etc.). Prepare pre-bid memorandum outlining project scope, size, due date, labor (prevailing wage), MWBE response, insurance, and bonding requirements. Prepare proposed bid schedules. Conduct bid review meeting and review of final bid checklist. Prepare proposal response letter and coordinates submission of final package. Provide assistance on change order preparation for existing projects, including materials, labor, and equipment requirements and sub-contractor procurement. Provide quality control and quality assistance on engineering design construction plans and estimates for the parent company. Develop and maintain data base of costs for materials, overhead, profit, and contingency rates used for all proposals/bids. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field preferred. 4 years construction estimating experience required. Record of successful estimating and management of projects. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and estimating programs. Prior experience with Heavy Bid a plus. Prior experience estimating landfill gas system projects desired, but relevant experience in utility, industrial, refinery, environmental, infrastructure, remediation, or similar types of construction will be considered.
