Exovera provides a range of monitoring and analytics services for public and private sector customers. French and/or Arabic speaking candidates with outstanding professional English writing skills, as well as a sophisticated understanding of African affairs, are encouraged to apply. Strong candidates will show demonstrated familiarity with the local media environment in at least one part of Africa and a good understanding of regional security, political, and economic issues. Two years of proven analytic experience in fields such as strategic communications, journalism, intelligence, political consulting, and the like, is required. Familiarity with social media, information technology, and analytics are major advantages.Daily Responsibilities:* Monitors international and regional traditional and non-traditional new sources in English, French and Arabic, selects and assesses information according to dynamic criteria* Advises on public relations messaging for large security organization in the region* Provides input on African media, culture/society, security, and politics* Writes brief and succinct analytic executive overviews highlighting and assessing key information* Interacts with online tools, including media aggregators, social media applications, computer analysis systems and databasesMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS?The ideal candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline such as International Affairs, Political Science, Journalism, Security, History, Sociology, or other related field. Consultants with an undergraduate degree is acceptable if coupled with outstanding relevant experience* Proven skill and experience in professional writing (in English) and sophisticated analysis* Strong interest and knowledge of Africa, African culture and history, and regional current events* Native or near native level fluency in French and preferably Arabic, additional languages, especially Portuguese, is an asset.* Ability to process and organize large amounts of information and identify and assess items of greatest importance, and skill at detecting and avoiding biases* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail* Demonstrated comfort with information technology and multimedia software, including publishing and analytics tools* Maturity, honesty, and integrityADDITIONAL INFORMATIONWork Environment:* Offers some schedule flexibility and occasional opportunities to work from homeSDL2017
