Technica Corporation is seeking a Plans, Projects & Engineering Systems Engineer who will provide technical guidance for directing and monitoring information systems operations. The selected candidate will design, build, and implement network systems. Responsibilities * Work closely with lead engineer and project managers to provide customers with project design, build, and test. * Works with PM to ensure organizational standard processes are adapted, approved and followed * Install, configure, test and deploy operating systems, application software, and system management tools * Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability are built into system design documents * Support lead engineer with document development and delivery * Liaise with customers, vendors, and other personnel to ensure proper project construction and delivery Requirements * BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject * Proven working experience in installing, configuring, and deploying Linux/Windows based systems in a virtual environment. * Minimum 4 years experience * Solid experience in the research, development, and utilization of operating systems, virtual systems, and applications (e.g., Microsoft Server 2016, Linux RHEL 6.x) * Experience with application installation (e.g., Apache, IIS, Tomcat) * Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box, HyperV) * Experience with government security hardening protocols (e.g., Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)) * Experience with monitoring systems (Solarwinds, SCOM) * Solid scripting skills (e.g., Power Shell) * Individual with strong design, architecture, and writing skills. * Knowledgeable in application of DISA STIGs on windows systems The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
