Job Description Education Data Analyst Job DescriptionIn this position, the Data Analyst will support the research and evaluation team in various data analytic tasks. The data analyst will develop clear and well-structured analytical plans and analyze datasets that range in size, but mostly will focus on large administrative data sets. Activities will include cleaning administrative data, adapting and creating coding for detecting data quality errors, identifying trends in longitudinal data, analyzing data according to requirements and developing output that facilitates data use and research. The data analyst should be comfortable working in a statistical coding language, preferably STATA, to edit existing code and develop processes and procedures that are replicable.Job Duties:Merge, extract, manipulate, analyze and model data using analytical and statistical tools.Conduct exploratory data analysis and data visualization.Ensure data accuracy and create ad hoc reports.Locate an array of sources and media containing information on a particular subject.Support the development of visualizations, including dashboards, that can be used to inform policy decisions.Support teams in the development of outreach or in summarizing data.Perform quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis.Provide support to carry out research and evaluation tasks as assigned.Communicating effectively with a broad range of constituents. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Exceptional skills in technology to merge and clean large datasets and conduct descriptive statistics.Proficiency in SPSS, STATA, Excel, and/or other statistical reporting toolsStrong research and analytical skillsKnowledge of Tableau and/or other data visualization tools preferredAbility to work independentlyAbility to track several projects simultaneously, have excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to build positive relationships.Excellent organizational skills as well as the ability to collect and manage quantitative and qualitative data.Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
