The core of the FireEye platform is a virtual execution engine, complemented by dynamic threat intelligence, to identify and block cyber attacks in real time. The Role: The FireEye Network Forensics Platform (PX series) and the Investigation Analysis system (IA series) pair the industry's fastest lossless network data capture and retrieval solution with centralized analysis and visualization. They accelerate the network forensics process with a single workbench that simplifies investigations and reduces risk with expanded visibility into lateral spread. The Intern will work on the PX team to analyze and sort packets in pcap data from asymmetric network sessions. Read in packets from each direction of TCP and UDP sessions that have been routed asymmetrically through a network and captured on different appliances resulting in time stamp mismatches. Correctly sort and organize packets in original sequence for the TCP or UDP connection allowing subsequent decoding for layer 7 artifacts. Responsibilities: Provides enhanced visibility of possible vulnerabilities in customer trafficProvide session analysis of asymmetrically routed traffic for forensics analysis of content. Requirements: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer engineering, computer science or similar. Preferred Graduate Student.Proficiency in either python, GO, or C programming.Familiarity with network transmission protocol basics (TCP and UDP traffic)Must be enrolled in an accredited University and returning to classes at the end of the summer.
